Day 2 - Golfers!

They had a golf tournament here on the island and they needed pics of it so we drove around the course in a golf cart getting all the shots that we could.

This was the mode of transport that was provided for us this week. It is so cool!! It's called a Redbug for obvious reasons.
This is Cherokee Cottage where we are staying at the Club.
So far today we have shot tennis players and the we headed over to the Sea Turtle Center. We just got back from photographing a kayak adventure with Jen and Allison, the intern. We also had a very unfortunate casualty of the job today. Please forgive me if you can't get a hold of me right now.

It's time for an update...where in the world ia Javon and Dawn?

After just getting back from Jersey and almost getting caught up on phone messages and e-mails, we are off again. This week Dawn and I are hanging out in Jekyll Island with Jennifer Franks! We are here shooting images for the tourism authority for a publication that they are putting out nation wide. With our busy schedule this fall, we might have turned them down, but it was Jennifer that asked so we couldn't say no. After all, she is treating us like royalty while we are here!

At 5:30 this morning the alarm goes off and it is off to work. I left Dawn in bed, like I had a choice really and Jen and I headed out to Driftwood Beach to catch the sunrise. Driftwood Beach got it's name from all the ...anyone...anyone...driftwood that is there. Jen is such a trooper, I told her that she didn't have to come with me, but she did anyway. I'm glad, she turned into a great assistant. It was a beautiful morning, which we were grateful for, since we thought it was going to rain. NO RAIN TODAY!!

Here's what I told Jen looks like a praing mantis
The tide was coming in so the waves were really crashing on the rocks. Thia one rocks!
There is a shimp boat in this one, can anyone find it?
Shrimp and grits, shrimp soup, shrimp scampi, fried shrimp, grilled shrimp....- Bubba
Blame my Mom, I love shrimp boats!
This is the Jekyll Club Hotel, this is where we are staying. Out in front is the Croquet club playing, you guessed it, croquet.
I think it's cool that they are all wearing white. Kind of like Wimbledon.

This is Crane Cottage at the Club
Faith Chapel.

Tomorrow, a golf tournament...

Trixie and Jerad, July 14

Still working on getting caught up on the blog. It's not as easy as it looks, this blogging thing! This looked to me like a black and white day for me, it seems almost all of my shots that were my favorites were in black and white! That's really not a bad thing though.

The rings
One of my fav's from the wedding. This is Jerad and his son right before the ceremony
Not sure what she was doing, my guess...she was bored
Another one of those images that just makes me smile.

A wedding isn't a wedding without an inflatable seal!
I actually wanted to put Trixie in the road, too
Right before the ceremony, everyone left her all alone so I kept her company for a bit.

Spending a morning on the Jersey shore with Sam and Jesse!

We got up to Jersey last week on Wednesday after getting up sometime around 5ish. The next morning we got up again around 5ish to go shoot some images of Samantha and Jesse on the Jersey shore. They are both avid surfers and the beach means a lot to both of them.

Here is Sam right after we got out of the car.
They are in Costa Rica right now, probably catching some waves. Anyway, the weather was perfect. It was very cool and we almost had the beach to ourselves.
They have these beautiful rocks in the water and Sam and Jesse climbed right onto them. I could just have sat and watched the waves breaking over the rocks for hours, but Dawn was tired. Plus, we needed to look for a surf board that they were going to have the guests sign instead of a guestbook.

There was a lifeguard boat on the beach and I couldn't resist. The great thing about them is that I never posed them one time, it was the perfect session. It also helps that they are so in love.
SURPRISE!! The water was quite chilly.
There was also a lifeguard tower that was tipped over.
We will be headed back to Jersey at some point in the future to shoot some pics of them in the ocean and *hint*on their surfboards*hint*

At the US OPEN!!!!!!

So after shooting Sam's gorgeous wedding in New Jersey, we headed over to the US OPEN in Flushing Meadows, New York City! We got extremely lucky. We have been so busy that I forgot to get our tickets before we got here. Actually, I just kept procrastinating! It's so me. Anyway, our concierge put us in touch with a nice couple who didn't want to go that night(the woman was pregnant and had been on her feet all day). They were nice enough to let us have their tickets which also let us get in a bit earlier than everyone else becuase of a club pass.

Here we are outside the Lexs booth, thanks to Lexus for the pic, we didn't bring our camera, it's just too big!
These are some shots, courtesy of Olympus from that night. It was absolutely unreal being there. I told Dawn as we were coming over on the subway that I felt like I was going to my Mecca. Haha.
We got to see Justine Henin beat the crap out of Dinara Safina. All the way, JUSTINE!!!!
We also got to see Novak Djokovic beat del Potro, then we headed over to the Louis Armstrong stadium and watched the end of Jelena Jankovic's match. We like her, too. Then we went to the Grandstand and watched Robredo lose to Gulbis, an up and comer who has up and came. This kid had some game tonight.
This was all last night. Today we just got back from Rockefeller Centre where American Express is hosting Live At The Open. They play the US OPEN live on a giant movie theater screen. We sadly saw James Blake lose to Tommy Haas in 5 great sets.

Missy and Taylor's Engagement, wedding to follow soon

So to Athens for Missy and Taylor's e-session. The main part of town near UGA is so not named well. We drove around a couple of times trying to find the right road. We did find it and got to see Missy and Taylor flirting with each other acroos the street. I felt like a Peeping Tom. We had a great time and thankfully it wasn't too hot. We hared the fountain wasn't on, but oh well, what can you do?
Inside the parking garage
I like it when we can include life in the images. I think sometimes we can get too caught up with making the pictures like the couple are the only people in the world. I prefer to include as much life as I can, I just don't mind when people walk by, I think it adds to the feeling.
