WPJA Competition results!

The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world. They hold 4 competitions each year, for each season. We entered like 4 images and we won with this one. We are very tickled as it was our first time entering this competition.

A DAY WITH PATTYANN!!! and Eric :-)

I've known Pattyann for something like 10 years or so. She is one of Kristen's friends, which is how I knew her. Then some years ago, she up and left with her family and moved to Augusta. The last thing I remember Pattyann and I doing was sitting in the back of a church during a funeral, trying to be serious but cutting up anyway! I got to spend the day with Pattyann and Eric as I did a rarity for me and shot Engagement and Bridals on the same day! I only wish we could have gotten to go out to eat after the meeting we had that night, but they had to drive back home. I can't wait, their wedding is going to be so exciting and fun. That's what matters anyway, right?

I started them off in the dirt. Hahaha

We had a lot of fun trying to perfect this shot!

Playing around in their hybrid car. They suck!

Wish I could post pics from her Bridals, but I'm afraid that Eric would accidentally see!!!

Ginsey and Blaine Part 2

On his way down to Spring Training, Blaine and Ginsey made a quick stop to do some more portraits. I only had about 30 minutes as he had to get to Orlando and I didn't want to be the reason he was late! I could have shot the two of them all day, but I'll take what I can get. I wish I had the bandwidth to show them all, but this will have to do for now.

Ginsey playing in the wind
Perfect moments. You can't plan them or fake them, you have to be good enough to get them! This was one of those where Dawn and I both had the same reaction when we were editing these. "This is the shot!"
Snuggling together

How cool is this?
The wind got carried away, actually so did Ginsey. (I know it's corny!)
This was Blaine's brainchild with a little help from me!

Catherine and Jared

I met Catherine back in '05 at Carson Sears (now Johnson) ' wedding. She was a bridesmaid along with a few other goofballs!
From Carson's wedding in '05, left to right-Catherine, Sarah and Kelly(we shot her wedding last April, sniff, sniff)
I am so excited and honored to be able to shoot your wedding, you guys. I wish you both the best that life has to give you. Can't wait till April!

Snuggling together because it was so flippin' cold
Love that look
Our new Homepage!!! Love this!!

Lindsay and Hank

We shot Lindsay and Hank's engagement pics the other week. I get to shoot their wedding this weekend in Ocilla, GA. It should be a lot of fun, I think I may also have some past and present brides at this wedding also! I had a good time with them even if I kept mistiming the release of classes at VSU. I will post more pics from their wedding up early next week so check back!

Trying not to get thrown out of the University
I found a new place to shoot, so I broke it in. Almost got hit by traffic again.

And of course my favorite of that day!!

Megan and Erin at the Park

Yes, it's another episode of the Erin and Megan show! This time we find our leading ladies at the park where much to my surprise, Megan was actually smiling at me! On a funny note, Michelle's (our bride that we shot in Townsend, TN last year), daughter, Abby, was there and she went back and told her mom that the wacky guy with the camera was at the park! When I got to the park, Heather said they figured that I would bring the camera.

Erin pointing at something
Megan, not quite smiling yet. Love this shot.
Love this one, too!
"Are you still chasing me?"
"I can hide from him up here, Megan!"
The Escape Route
Now she is smiling at me, kind of, well maybe to the side.
"Awwww!!"

After we were done, we thought about how I must have looked to the other mothers at the park. Strange fellow running around a kiddie park with a giant camera taking pictures of little girls. Hahaha!

Yaritza and Juan

On Jan 27, we shot this tremendous wedding for a fantastically photogenic bride and groom. There are not very many words to describe it so I may have to let the wedding speak for itself. Needless to say, this wedding will make our archives of weddings we show to prospective clients! I was able to finish it this afternoon and I sat back from the computer and I felt like I had just hit a homerun. I wish I could take all the credit, I really have to give a lot of credit to where it is due, Yatti and Juan you both are fabulous. Your families, what can I say, your families treated us like we were part of the family. That really means a lot to us, more than you guys will ever know. Gracias, gracias, gracias!!

I love this shot, I love it!!
Love this one, too!!
Juan as Yatti is walking down the aisle with her Dad.
I shot this and I just wanted to jump and shout and scream, "I got it, I got it!"
They make their entrance into the reception
Yatti and her Dad in the Father Daughter dance. Could you imagine what must be going through his mind.
Juan and his Mom having a dance.

And the MacDaddy award of the wedding goes too...
Yatti's Dad playing around. This guy is so much fun makes me want to be in his family, too!
They make it too easy.

Juan was just waiting as Yatti was off doing something else.
One of our all-time fav's!
